Support for Open Tools and Systems

چکیده
The construction of interactive tools for current computing environments relies upon a generic set of characteristics that include an architecture for interaction, a programmingmethodology based on the object oriented paradigm, and support for rapid prototyping and experimental programming. This paper describes foundational components that support the construction of these tools. Two di erent tools, an application builder and an authoring system, are presented as examples built on those components.
